2023-24 Teacher-Scholar Mini Grant Awardees

Cal Poly’s Division of Research awarded 29 projects for the 2023-24 cycle of the Teacher-Scholar Mini Grant (TSMG) program.  

The TSMG has been developed to support our institutional commitment to advancing discovery, integration, application, and engagement in the context of teaching and learning. With support from the Office of the Provost, the Teacher-Scholar Mini Grant Program expands internal funding to support all areas of teacher-scholar activities. 

The 2023-24 awarded projects are:

  • "Monitoring and Controlling the Spread of Disinformation on Social Media"; Puneet Agarwal (CENG- Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering).
  • "Making Brain Waves: EEG Training for Undergraduates"; James Antony (CLA- Psychology and Child Development) and Kelly Bennion (CLA- Psychology and Child Development).
  • "The Book Club Module: How Collaborate Exposure to New Content for Both Instructor and Student Demystifies Academic Research and Builds Classroom Culture"; Nancy Arrington (CLA- Political Science).
  • "Investigation of the Isothermal Nernst Effect in Saturation Annealed Nonstoichiometric Bi2Te3+x"; Matt Beekman (BCSM- Physics).
  • "Ethnic Studies in Hawai‘i Summer Program"; Ryan Buyco (CLA- Ethnic Studies).
  • "User Experience Assessment and Usability Study on the Robert E. Kennedy Library's Website"; Heather Cribbs (Robert E. Kennedy Library) and Danielle Daugherty (Robert E. Kennedy Library).
